CUMBERLAND- Ann (Chodorowski) Winiarski,96, formerly of Mendon Road, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in the Emerald Bay Manor, Cumberland surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late John Winiarski.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Constantine and Margaret (Lapiniak) Chodorowski. She resided in Cumberland for the past 58 years, previously residing in Woonocket.

WOONSOCKET- Vivian G. (Beaudet) Maney, 94, of Woonsocket, died April 10, 2012 in the St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Edwin Maney.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late George and Bridget (O' Gara) Beaudet.
She is survived by two sons Kevin Maney of Narragansett, and Brian Maney of Chepachet; a daughter Maureen Maney of Woonsocket; two grandchildren Sarah Lane and Kate Maney, and two great grandchildren Grace and Samuel. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Francis and Paul Beaudet, and a sister Mary Lloyd.

NORTH SMITHFIELD- Lillian A. (DeMello) Poirier 87, of Mendon Rd. died Tuesday at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of Victor A. Poirier Jr.
Born in Pottersville, MA she was a daughter of the late Emile and Annie (Nazareth) DeMello.
Lillian was the housekeeper at St. John's Parish for six years retiring in 1980. She was a member of the choir at St. John's Church, an entertainer with "Caravan of Cheer" and loved to crochet.

PawSox players weigh in on Guillen's comments

PAWTUCKET – Tuesday morning saw a small group of PawSox players huddle around the clubhouse television as a contrite Ozzie Guillen attempted to move past the uproar he caused over supportive remarks the Miami Marlins manager made in reference to Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.
Among those who sat and watched Guillen with great interest were Jose Iglesias and Luis Exposito. In fact, the pair stood side-by-side for roughly 10 minutes before Iglesias plopped himself down into a leather chair, his eyes clearly fixated on what Guillen was saying.

CUMBERLAND — It’s almost eerie how well Cumberland High struck the ball on Tuesday afternoon.
“We hit it pretty well in our second game against Moses Brown, and in the Injury Fund (tilt) against Woonsocket, but I’ve never seen anything like this,” explained senior righty Justin Patrick after the Clippers clubbed 17 hits – including nine for extra bases – in a 14-0 thrashing of still-winless Smithfield High at Tucker Field.

WOONSOCKET- Robert L. Riendeau (Butch) 73, of Monroe St. died Monday at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Carol (Gilson) Riendeau.
Born in Woonsocket he was a son of the late Leo and Sylvia (Dubois) Riendeau.
Bob was a dyer for Ocean State Finishing for many years. Most of his life he worked as a stone mason. Bob served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.

BURRILLVILLE- Laurel J. (Loguercio) Lacey, 83, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2012, at home in Bradford Court. A resident of Pascoag she had formerly lived in Oakland for more than 30 years. She was the wife of the late Raymond Lacey.
Born in Lynn, MA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Eva (Ducasse) Loguercio.
Laurel worked as a mender in area Textile Mills for many years.

BURRILLVILLE - Deacon Normand J. Bacon, 78, died Friday, April 6, 2012 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. A former resident of Woonsocket and Chepachet he lived in Pascoag. He was the husband of Constance (Beaudet) Bacon of Pascoag, whom he married in June of 1964.
Born in Blackstone, MA, he was the son of the late Dorien and Alice (Belliveau) Bacon.
