Diane L. Parenteau
WOONSOCKET- Diane L. (Lavallee) Parenteau, 56, of Seventh Ave., died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of Rene G. Parenteau, whom she married October 5, 2002.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Maurice R. and Lillian C. (Dextraze) Lavallee.
Mrs. Parenteau worked thirty-one years for The Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. She enjoyed bicycling, taking photographs and gardening.
Claudette C. Aubin
WOONSOCKET- Claudette C. (Lebrun) Aubin 69, of Diamond Hill Rd. died Thursday in Sarasota Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Theodore "Ted" Aubin.
A life long city resident she was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Adelard and Germaine (Bolduc) Lebrun.
Claudette was co-owner along with her husband Ted, of Ted's Construction Company for thirty five years, retiring in 2006.
She was a graduate of Woonsocket High School. Claudette was a member of the Red Hatters. She enjoyed traveling and golf and loved spending time with her family.

WOONSOCKET — Gov. Lincoln Chafee took a walk on Main Street with Mayor Leo T. Fontaine on Monday and learned about the challenges of economic development in one of his state’s distressed communities.
There were several signs of hope to be found on the tour, talks with business owners making a go of it despite the tough economy, and also a few reminders of work yet to be done to put viable businesses in still vacant storefronts.
“It’s challenging,” Chafee admitted after touring the large mill property Marie Deschenes is revitalizing at 117 Main St.
PROVIDENCE — Keno Davis never failed to mention that Providence College featured one of the youngest men’s basketball teams in the Big East, if not the country. Many saw that as a plea or a copout on Davis’ part, but the fact that the Friars’ 2010-11 roster was comprised of 10 first- or second-year players is not lost on athletic director Bob Driscoll.
Robert R. Bourget
WOONSOCKET- BOURGET, Robert R. "Bob" 64, passed March 12th surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Gerald and Jeanne (Poirier) Bourget.
He had been the proprietor of Bobby B's auto repair for many years before retiring and had also worked at the Moshassuck Cemetery. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Bob was a proud Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Lucille C. Leduke
WOONSOCKET- Lucille C. (Gagne) Leduke, 59, of Logee St., died Thursday, March 10, 2011, in Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Lucille (Champagne) Sullivan and step-daughter of the late Francis Sullivan.
She worked many years as a school bus driver for Valley Transportation, Woonsocket.
Sophie Peloquin
TIVERTON, RI- Sophie (Nichola), 82, of Tiverton, RI passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Sakonnet Bay Manor in Tiverton.
She was the wife of the late Roger E. Peloquin.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on March 6, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Paul and Constance (Coca) Nichola.
Raymond "Ray"
Norman Demers
RANCHO BERNARDO, CA- Raymond "Ray" Norman Demers, age 82 of Rancho Bernardo, CA peacefully passed on Thursday, March 10, 2011 surrounded by his family. Ray, a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, received his wings after living with dementia for nearly five years.
Ray was born on August 13, 1928 in Manville, RI, the second of five children to Rose & Arthur Demers, brother to Richard (deceased), Roger, Rita and Rainey.
Therese A. Frappier
WOONSOCKET - Therese A. Frappier, 86, formerly of Roberts St., Woonsocket, died Sunday at St. Antoine Residence.
Born in St. Hyacinthe, PQ, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia (Crepeau) Frappier.
She was a resident of Woonsocket for most of her life and also resided in Blackstone for several years.
In her younger years she worked at Berkshire Spinning in Albion and later was employed at the French Worsted Mill.
Christine A. Nowak
LINCOLN- Ms. Christine A. Nowak, 50, passed away Sunday March 13, 2011.
Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Joseph A. Nowak and the late Helen B. (Kopacki) Nowak who died March 8, 2011.
A 1978 graduate of Lincoln High School, she was a 1982 honors graduate of the University of Rhode Island where she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and history.
