Judy R. LeBlanc
BLACKSTONE- Judy R. (Laquerre) LeBlanc, 67. of Blackstone, MA passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 23, 2012 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard J. LeBlanc.
Born in Fargo, ND on August 10, 1944, she was the daughter of Lillian M. (Delong) Laquerre of Northbridge, MA and the late Raymond Laquerre.
NORTH SMITHFIELD â Monday night saw North Smithfield come close to handing The Prout School its first league loss of the season. The Northmen managed to keep the contest close, but a strong push down the stretch enabled the Crusaders to waltz out of Lovett Gymnasium with a 69-61 triumph.
PROVIDENCE â The Woonsocket High School football program is staying put in Division II. In the case of Tolman High, Division I beckons after a successful stint in Division II.
Divisional alignments for several fall sports were ratified and approved at Mondayâs meeting of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League Principals' Committee on Athletics. In the case of football, Woonsocket will remain in Division II, a league where the Villa Novans have resided since the 2006 season.
WOONSOCKET -- The final tally on shots on net in Monday nightâs contest between Mount St. Charles and Barrington was an astounding 78-32 count in favor of the Mounties.
And while the Mounties managed to claim the Division I crossover game by an 8-0 score, they werenât able to put away the visiting Eagles until the start of the third period, as they netted four goals in the first 7:18 of play to finally send the fans to Adelard Arenaâs parking lot.
PROVIDENCE â Seconds after a Superior Court judge found Lincoln police officer Edward M. Krawetz guilty of felony battery with a dangerous weapon â in this case, his shod foot â the defendant's wife, Lori, wiped away tears.
Several other family members just looked around in disbelief after Justice Edward C. Clifton announced his decision at about 12:10 p.m., Monday.
WOONSOCKET â Robert Bouchard can still crack a joke about how his neighborhood is starting to remind him of the Hitchcock classic, âThe Birds,â but donât be fooled: Heâs losing his sense of humor about the North Endâs population of gloomy-looking vultures.
Itâs growing, says Bouchard.
And so are his concerns about avian-borne disease and property values.
âThe growth has been exponential,â says Bouchard. âItâs gotten to the point where you donât even see a migratory dropoff of the population in the summertime anymore.â
Christiane Yvonne Goguen
GLASTONBURY, CT- Christiane Yvonne (LePollozec) Goguen, 86, wife of the late Robert Goguen, of Glastonbury and formerly Franklin, MA, died Monday, January 23, 2012, in New Britain.
Born in Rennes, France the daughter of the late Alexis and Melanie (LePeuc'h) LePollozec, she made her home in Franklin, MA for 56 years, moving to Glastonbury in 2003.
Lucien J. Lanctot
PAWTUCKET- Lucien J. Lanctot, 83, passed away on January 23rd. He was the husband of Lillian (Lepage) Lanctot.
Born in Lincoln, he was a son of the late Louis and Clarinda (Gagnon) Lanctot.
Lucien had been employed by Haskall Manufacturing for 20 years.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, a life member of the DAV and VFW and also was a member of the Royal Travelers for 20 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 sisters, Louise, Doris and Claire, 5 brothers, Edward, Francis, Aldor, Joseph and Raymond Lanctot. He was the brother of the late Romeo and Leon Lanctot.
Pamela L. Millette
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Pamela L. Millette, 45, of North Smithfield, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at her home.
She was born on Thursday, November 24, 1966, in Woonsocket, daughter of Rachel (Laporte) Felicio of North Smithfield and the late Manuel Manny Felicio.
BLACKSTONE- Robert L. Bourque, Sr., 67, of Blackstone, died Saturday, January 21 2012 at home. He was the husband of Carol A. (MacDonald) Bourque whom he married May 9, 1964. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Henry and Irene (Lesperance) Bourque.
He worked twenty seven years for the Commonwealth of MA at State Hospitals, retiring as a Mason.
