Rocco Baldelli opens up on day he's inducted into Hendricken Athletic HOF

March 18, 2012

WARWICK – If nothing else, Sunday offered Rocco Baldelli a rare chance to partake in some deep-seeded reflection.
An intensely private sort, Baldelli more often than not comes across as a man of mystery rather than someone who’s willing to lay all his cards on the table. Such an introverted/reclusive approach helped the Woonsocket native get through the turbulent times that arose during his career of seven major-league seasons, the belief at the time that the less the general public knew, the better.

WHS students share their life-changing visit to Rwanda

March 17, 2012

By JOSEPH B. NADEAU

WOONSOCKET — They had heard the stories about the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda and had even met a survivor who visited their school a year ago.
But a group of seniors from the high school now knows just reading about a defining moment in history, or researching media coverage about it, isn't enough to give true understanding of the impact it had on those experiencing it.
