Candy E. Lanoue
WOONSOCKET- Candy E. (Pleau) Lanoue, 57 , of Greene St. passed away on June 29th.
Born July 30, 1953 in Woonsocket she was the daughter of Marjorie (Nelson) Pleau of Woonsocket and the late Richard Pleau.
Candy loved bicycling and loved listening to music. She was always able to lend a helping hand for those in need.
Bruce Foster loves an adventure. The tougher, the better.
In past years, Foster has rode his bike 300-plus miles from his Lincoln residence to the Canadian border and back a few times. Heâ€™s also participated in the Sunday River Mountain Epic trail running challenge, a handful of Odyssey Adventure Racing multi-day expedition adventure races, and a few other over-the-top challenges to test his personal boundaries and push himself to the limit.
But none of his past experiences came close to measuring up to the challenge he endured two weekends ago.
EAST PROVIDENCE â€”The man suspected of leaving a dog in deplorable health at the front door of the R.I. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals sometime Monday afternoon has been arrested by East Providence police, Lt. Michael David confirmed Wednesday.
Carlos Alvarez, 46, of Rehoboth, turned himself in at the East Providence Police Department late Wednesday morning, then was asked to meet with Dr. E.J. Finocchio, RISPCA President.
Helen F. Fortin
BURRILLVILLE- Helen F. (Zontek) Fortin, 88, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Leo J. Fortin whom she married Aug. 16, 1947, they lived in Pascoag.
Born in Southern Poland she was the daughter of the late Simon Zontek and Aniela (Adamczyk) Pelczar.
Norma E. McCarthy
NORTH ATTLEBORO- Norma E. McCarthy, of North Attleboro, passed peacefully on July 2, 2011 in the Life Care Center of Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas F. McCarthy, Sr. who passed in 1998.
Born in Houston, Texas on October 18, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Folse) Monaghan.
Denis D. Beaulieu, Sr.
BLACKSTONE- Denis D. Beaulieu, Sr., 72, of Blackstone, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2011 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 47 years of Georgette D. (Poirier) Beaulieu.
Born on November 18, 1938, he was the son of the late Ulric and Dolores (Fistte) Beaulieu.
John J. Filipponi, Jr.
WOONSOCKET- John J. Filipponi, Jr. 58, of Pinecrest Drive, Woonsocket died Saturday July 2, 2011 peacefully at home after a long illness.
Born in Derby, CT. he was the husband of Leslie Carey, son of the late John and Lucy (Bottachiari) Filipponi, Sr. He is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mr. Filipponi recently retired after 26 years with the Rhode Island Department of Transportation as a resident engineer. He was a past President of the Italian Workingmen's Club in Woonsocket.
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Guyette, Beatrice 95 died Thursday June 30th at the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. She was the wife of the late Francis W. Guyette.
Born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Louis and Rose Guernon. She lived in North Smithfield for over sixty years.
Mrs. Guyette was a partner in the Colony Poultry Farms North Smithfield retiring in 1980.
Adeline M. Duprey
MILFORD, MASS- Adeline M. (Podsiadlo)Duprey, 91, a resident of the Milford Care & Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of County St. Blackstone, MA. passed away peacefully on Sunday at the Center. She was the loving wife of the late Alexander S. Duprey.
Born Feb. 29, 1920, in No.Grosvenordale, Ct. she was the daughter of the late Joachim & Victoria (Pamula) Podsiadlo she resided in Blackstone, MA. for many years before going to Milford.
Jeffrey J. Sartini
WOONSOCKET- Jeffrey J. Sartini, 46, of Woonsocket, died Friday at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of 22 years of Sherry Hawes.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late James H. and Vivian C. (Bell) Sartini. He was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket.
Mr. Sartini attended Woonsocket schools and was employed at Friends Foundry in Woonsocket for over 20 years.
Jeff loved the outdoors and working around his yard. He had a special talent as a handyman and would always give of his time and expertise to family and friends in need.
