Mary A. Miclette
Mary A. (Szewczyk) Miclette, 96, of East St. Cumberland passed away on November 14th, at Miriam Hospital.
Born Dec. 2, 1914, in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence & Katarzyna (Foret) Szewczyk.
Mary was employed for many years at A.T. Cross as a machine operator until retiring.
She was the loving mother of the late John Miclette & Dora Keneally, and sister of the late Stella Lambert, Frances Kmiec, Stanley & Jozef Szewczyk.
WOONSOCKET â After a preliminary review of Landmark Medical Centerâs application to merge with Steward Health Care System, state regulators have deemed the paperwork incomplete, but a Landmark spokesman dismissed the notion that the assessment means the merger is in jeopardy.
âItâs not a bump,â said Bill Fischer. âQuite frankly it was expected because if you look at history thereâs no hospital conversion that Iâm aware of thatâs had an application deemed complete on the first pass.â
WOONSOCKET â Luigi Porreca Jr. is not a magician, but he and his father are going to turn metal into food for the poor this year â again.
The proprietors of L&R Scrap Metal Co. are sponsoring the 2nd Annual Help Feed the Hungry for the Holidays event, which raised enough cash to provide about 500 dinners for the hungry last year.
âThis year we hope to make it a thousand,â says Porreca.
But L&R needs your help â or at least your unwanted appliances â to make it happen.
Doris Kathleen Cardella
ENFIELD & CLINTON CT- Doris "Dot" Kathleen (Malhoit) Cardella, 82, of Enfield, beloved widow of Anthony "Tony" Cardella, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Johnson Memorial Medical Center.
Dot was deeply loved and will be missed by her daughters, Kathleen Ann Cardella, of East Longmeadow, MA, and Karen Ann Cardella, of Clinton, CT.
Rita J. Frisiello-Small
SMITHFIELD- Rita J. Frisiello-Small 94, resident of Greenville died November 9, 2011 at the Cortland Place.
Wife of the late Arthur Chausse, Lorenzo Frisiello and Richard Small.
Born Jan 28, 1917 in Salem MA, a daughter to the late Emilien & Julia (Perron) Chagnon.
Rita worked for the AT Cross Co. for several years; previously she worked for the Finklestein Co. as a seamstress. She previously lived in North Smithfield and Woonsocket. She enjoyed square dancing and visiting the area senior centers.
Theresa M. Comtois
WOONSOCKET- Theresa M. (Jettte) Comtois, 71, of Rhodes Ave., formerly of Clinton St. Kennedy Manor, died Tuesday November 15, 2011, in the Friendly Home Inc. She was the wife of the late Roland M. Comtois.
Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Honorius and Isabelle (Gaudette) Jette.
Theresa was a Homemaker.
Leonard Van Bever
WOONSOCKET- Leonard Van Bever, 93, of Star Ave., passed away peacefully on Tuesday at home with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Phyllis M. (Samek) Van Bever.
Born July 4, 1918 in Woonsocket he was the son of the late Leonard & Marie (Henault) Van Bever, he resided in Woonsocket most of his life.
Carole A. Walsh
WOONSOCKET- Carole A. Walsh 64, of Gaulin Ave. died Sunday at Landmark Medical Center.
She was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late George and Anita (Mondoux) Walsh.
Carole was a graduate of The Sawyer School. She was employed as a medical assistant at Thundermist Health Center for over seventeen years.
