Augusta V. LaBastie
MENDON- Augusta V. (Principessa) LaBastie, 93, of Mendon, died Saturday July 9, 2011 in the Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford. She was the wife of the late Austin A. LaBastie who died in 2003.
Mrs. LaBastie was employed as an LPN for 25 years at the former Milford Medical Home, presently known as Countryside Healthcare of Milford.
She was born Jan. 26, 1918 in Dedham, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Basilici) Principessa and was a graduate of the former Pondville Hospital Nursing School in Norfolk.
Rose A. Lantagne
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Rose A. Lantagne, 80, of North Smithfield and formerly of Pawtucket died July 10, 2011 at St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Norman J. Lantagne.
She was born in Pawtucket and had lived in Pawtucket for most of her life. She was employed by A.T. Cross Co. until her retirement.
Sophie B. Bis
CUMBERLAND- Sophie B. Bis 98, of Fiske Ave. Cumberland passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2011 at Oak Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born in South Bellingham, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Francis M. and Louisa I. (Nowak) Bis.
She was a graduate of Franklin high School and the former Hill College. She later served on the Board of Directors of that College. Sophie was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Woonsocket.
Ruth L. Laplume
SENECA, SC- Ruth L. (Catteau) Laplume, 64, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife for 43 years of Eugene Laplume.
WOONSOCKET- Claire (Gianco) Cote, 93, formerly of Park Ave, Woonsocket died Wednesday, July 6 2011 in Overlook Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Pascoag. She was the wife of the late Rene P. Cote.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late John and Sophie (Starve) Gianco.
Mrs. Cote retired as a Dietary Aide for the St. Francis Home, Woonsocket in 2001.
Doris J. Molle
CUMBERLAND- Doris J. Molle, 79 of Flat St., died Thursday at home. She was the loving wife of the late Anthony F. Molle.
Mrs. Molle was born in Woonsocket, the daughter of the late Herve and Palmena (Lussier) Dumas. Doris worked at Electronic Molding Corporation for seventeen years and then as an inspector for AT Cross Co. for five years before retiring in 1993. Her family and friends will always remember her optimism, laughter, and zest for life.
Joseph Mark Regan
REHOBOTH- Joseph Mark Regan, 85, of Rehoboth, a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 7, 2011 in the Madonna Manor Nursing Home, North Attleboro with his deeply beloved wife Dorothy (Mariani) Regan by his side. It was the morning of their 60th wedding anniversary.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on April 30, 1926, he was a son of the late John H. Sr. and Catherine (Elwood) Regan. Joseph was educated in Providence schools.
PAWTUCKET â€“ The PawSox players and staff couldnâ€™t vacate the McCoy Stadium grounds fast enough Sunday evening.
After holding on for a 4-3 win against Buffalo, the PawSox put the unofficial first half (91 of 143 games) behind them and will use the next three days to regroup mentally.
