Aldor J. Girard, Jr.

WOONSOCKET Aldor J. Girard, Jr. formerly of Jillson Ave., died November 27, 2010 in Woonsocket.
He was the beloved husband of Marie R. (Phaneuf) Girard and father of Jean Marie Ottavi and Paul J. Girard both of Florida.
His funeral will be held on Saturday at 11am in St. Agatha's Church, Logee St., Woonsocket. Burial with military honors in the R.I. Veterans Cemetery, Exeter will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

City seeks payment for cost of fighting mill fire

WOONSOCKET – The city wants to recoup some of the costs it incurred for extinguishing the Alice Mill fire last week from the company that insures the mammoth mill site.
The known costs thus far include $38,660 in overtime, most for the Woonsocket Fire Department, but nearly $7,000 for police, said Mayor Leo T. Fontaine.
A full inventory of expenses, including possible overtime logged by workers in the water department, should be finished within a couple of days.

PROVIDENCE --- They split their regular-season series by winning lopsided games on their home fields. They battled to a 1-0 duel in the winners’ bracket semifinals, and they shared some Division I championship history by playing a one-sided game that was decided by a dozen runs.
On Tuesday night, Cumberland High and Mount St. Charles Academy battled each other in a winner-take-all showdown for the ages, a nine-inning duel that saw the Clippers emerge with their program’s first state title.

SMITHFIELD - Celia "Sis" F. (Coleman) Hebert, 85, died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Courtland Place in Greenville. She was the wife of the late Ernest Hebert Jr.
Born in Pascoag, she was the daughter of the late Michael Coleman and Celia (Spink) Flanagan.
Celia worked as a spinner at JSB Yarns of Uxbridge, MA for many years.

BLACKSTONE, MA- Doris R.(Gaumond) Bernier, 87 of Blackstone, MA. Passed away at home Monday June 13, 2011 with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Donat Bernier.

Doris was employed at Miller Electric for 22 years retiring in 1984.
Doris was an avid bingo player and a puzzle maker.

He is survived by his children; Michael and Caitlyn Taylor of W. Greenwich, His brothers: Robert E. Taylor of Providence, Steven Taylor of N. Smithfield and Sister June Aubin of Woonsocket.
Michael was an avid outdoorsman and had a passion for music.
