August 7, 2015

PAWTUCKET – After celebrating two phenomenal International League Governors' Cup championships over the previous three years, the Pawtucket Red Sox won't come close this summer. They bid adieu to a possible playoff berth several weeks ago.

In fact, after manager Kevin Boles' crew dropped a 4-0 decision to Syracuse on Thursday night at McCoy Stadium, Pawtucket had not only suffered four straight defeats, but 15 of its last 19 overall and 20 of its previous 24 road tilts.

American Legion Baseball | OFF TO A FLYING START: Upper Deck brings its 'A' game in Northeast Regional opener

August 5, 2015

BRISTOL, Conn. – If Ryan O’Neill had any concern prior to hurling in Upper Deck Post 86/14’s opener of the Northeast Regional American Legion Tournament on Wednesday afternoon, it didn’t come from a case of nerves.

“The fact we hadn’t seen them (that is, Maine state champion Bangor Comrades) all season, that’s what bothered me, if anything,” he said. “Three was no familiarity there because we hadn’t faced them.”

Pawtucket Red Sox | Lucchino to retain up-front role with PawSox

August 2, 2015

PAWTUCKET – The weekend news of Larry Lucchino stepping down as president and CEO of the Boston Red Sox by year’s end won’t change his role with the Pawtucket Red Sox.

“Nothing changes with respect to the PawSox, which is good news for all of us. He’s still actively in the midst of pursuing a renegotiated agreement with the state,” said Patti Doyle, spokeswoman for the ownership group representing the Triple-A franchise.

July 28, 2015

It’s no secret that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is all about “protecting the shield.”
