WOONSOCKET- Celine A. Rochefort 81, of Fall St. died Wednesday at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Eugene and Fabiola (Marcotte) Sauvageau.
Mrs. Rochefort graduated from St. Claire High School and RI College with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She was a physical education teacher for the Catholic School System in Woonsocket and Central Falls for over fourteen years, she also worked for the ARC of RI for nine years. Mrs. Rochefort was a guide for the Museum of Work and Culture. She was an avid swimmer, enjoyed traveling and visiting with her children and grandchildren, and will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Rochefort is survived by four sons, Willie "Skip" Rochefort and his wife Jackie of Eugene, OR, Guy Rochefort of Las Vegas, NV, Eugene J. Rochefort of Burrillville, and John Rochefort and his wife Diane of VT, two daughters Andree Byard and her husband Vern of CA, and Celine Clark and her husband David of Woonsocket, two sisters Violette Sutherland of FL, and her twin sister Sr. Pauline Sauvageau PM of NH, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday 2-4 PM at the Fournier and Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket. The funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph's Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Please visit
