Charles A. Figuerido
MILLVILLE- Charles A. Figuerido, 52, of Main St., died Wed. Oct. 13, at Philip Hulitar Hospice House in Providence surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor Penny Figuerido of Millville, the love of his life whom he married 16 years ago; his mother Sylvia McCausland and her husband Paul of Mapleville, R.I.; his father Charles F. Figuerido of Uxbridge; brother Thomas Figuerido and his wife Jody of Uxbridge; 2 sisters Mary Lachance and her companion Christopher Beck of Uxbridge and Ann Bergeron of Uxbridge; 2 step sons Nathan Wilson of Millville and Chad Sheckly of Linwood and several nephews and nieces.
He was a graduate of Blackstone Millville Regional High School and participated in cross country, soccer, track and field. After graduation he attended R.I. Trade Shops Schools and was the first graduated to received the award of Best All Around Mechanic.
He was a custodian for the Blackstone Millville Schools for several years, as well as having worked for RefineMet International and Nelson's Automotive in Burrillville, R.I. He was passionate about fishing and hunting and was a proud member of Nipmuc Rod and Gun Club and National Rifleman's Ass.
Charles served on the Youth Retreat Staff at the former Ephpheta House in Manville, R.I. from 1977 to 1983 and was a lifelong member of St. Augustine's Church in Millville. He was active in St. Augustine's CYC in his younger years and reverently portrayed the role of Jesus During the groups Lenten presentation of the Stations of the Cross.
Prior to his illness, he spent the last few years of his life transporting his father, who was also his closest friend to various medical appointments. He never missed a family gathering and will be greatly missed.
His funeral will be held on Sat. Oct. 16 from the Tancrell Jackman Funeral Home 35 Snowling Rd Uxbridge, MA with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Augustine's Church 17 Lincoln St Millville, MA. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery Uxbridge. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Fri.
