BELLINGHAM- Ernest P. "Ernie" Stockton, 63, of Bellingham, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2010 at home. He was the beloved husband for 40 years of Marie M. "Kelly" (Kahlenbeck) Stockton.
Born on June 28, 1947 in O'Leary, P.E. I., Canada, he was the son of the late Roland and Isabelle (Palmer) Stockton.
He was the loving father of Ernest P. Stockton, Jr. of Bellingham and the late Eric L. Stockton deceased in 1980. He was the brother of Elizabeth Koshivas and her husband, Charles, of Franklin, MA and the late Joan McGue. He also leaves his foster son Don Cadarette and his wife, Elena, of Bellingham.
A lifelong resident of Bellingham, he attended Bellingham Schools and Norfolk Agricultural School. He owned and operated Stockton & Son Service Center in Bellingham for over 30 years, and worked at M & G Convoy in Ashland, MA as a heavy equipment mechanic for 10 years, Hopedale Press Metal and a member of the Teamsters Union Local #631. Mr. Stockton served on the Oak Hill Cemetery Board as a Trustee, also caretaker at the cemetery. He enjoyed camping, snow plowing, playing ball with his dog and was an avid MOPAR enthusiast.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday Evening October 29, at 7:30PM at CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St., Bellingham, MA. Visiting time from 5 to 7:30PM prior to service. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be sent to the
Animal Rescue League of Boston, 10 Chandler St., Boston, MA 02116 would be appreciated.
