UXBRIDGE- MARTIE J. (Yawn) Santacroce, 95, of Uxbridge, died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 in the Lydia Taft House in Uxbridge. She was the wife of the late Joseph Santacroce who died in 1995.
She was born in Lenox GA, daughter of the late Samuel and Almedia (Rentz) Santacroce and lived in Milford and Hopedale before moving to Uxbridge in 1998.
She was educated in the Lenox Ga. schools. She was a member of the Friends of the Elderly Community House in Hopedale.
She is survived by two daughters Nancy Ringer of Oakland RI, Joan and her husband Joseph Burke of Uxbridge, one brother Homer Yawn of Harrison AR, four sisters Alice Purvis of Tifton GA, Louise Gunn of Atlanta GA, Lora Jumpp of Keystone Heights FL, Estelle Davis of Gilbert SC, six grandsons Matthew Brooks of Mesa AZ, Jonathan Brooks of Brookline, Jeffrey Brooks of Attleboro, Timothy Burke of Uxbridge, Patrick Burke of Hopedale, Corey Burke of Oxford and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brother Joel Yawn and a sister Ruby Wood.
A funeral home service will be held Monday, October 25, 2010, at 10 A.M. in the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St.
Burial will follow in the Hopedale Village Cemetery in Hopedale.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 5 to 8 P.M.
