NO. SMITHFIELD- Robert L. Clausen, 92, resident of No. Smithfield, passed away Oct. 23, 2010 at Fatima Hospital in No. Providence.
Loving husband of Pauline (Sweeney) Clausen.
Born in South Bend IN, raised in Laconia NH, a son of the late Frederick & Ragna (Jensen) Clausen.
He was the former owner & operator of the following, RL Clausen Co., Woonsocket Tool & Die Co., and JB Waterfield Co. He served his apprenticeship at the former Taft Pierce Co. While growing up in NH. he enjoyed skiing and hiking. Throughout his life he was an avid gardener, fisherman, and inventor.
Besides his wife he is survived by, his children, Robert M. Clausen of CT., William B. Clausen & his wife Joyce of Warwick, grandchildren, William Jr. and his wife Mary of MA, Ericka of FL, Patrick and his wife Kelly of GA, Allan and his wife Laurie of VA, and their mother Karolyn (Spencer) Clausen and grandchildren, Michael and his wife Heather of RI, and Lori (Clausen) Mihailides and her husband David of RI and their mother Betty Clausen, along with 12 great grandchildren, and sister, Ruth "Tootsie" Kokolski.
He was preceded in death by his, first wife M. Irene (O'Donnell) Clausen, son, Patrick Clausen, brothers & sisters, Ethel Sennett, Reetz Clausen, Alice Hentzi, Ralph Clausen, June Lamoureux, Arthur Clausen, Frederick Clausen, Norma Currier, Phillip and Phyllis Anderson.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 am in the Keene-Brown Funeral Home 445 Greenville Rd. No. Smithfield RI. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery in Blackstone MA. Calling hours are prior to the service from 9:30 until 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Insight (formerly RI association for the Blind) 43 Jefferson Blvd. Suite 1 Warwick RI. 02888.
