TN's Tidbits: Vikings release Randy Moss!

November 1, 2010

ESPN is telling us the Minnesota Vikings released Randy Moss today, less than a month after they gave New England a third-round draft choice for the future Hallof Famer.

Speculation is Randy sealed his fate by telling the world how much he loved the Patriots before and after yesterday's game. Minnesota coach Brad Childress is coming off a tough week, after failing to challenge a disputed TD in last week's loss to Green Bay, and then having to baby-sit Bret Favre all week. So when Moss came off the field after meeting with all of his Patriots friends, Childress must have been seething.

No problem. Childress's head will roll after this season, too. Minnesota will clean house. Moss, then Favre, then Childress.

Moss can now be claimed on waivers by any NFL team, starting from the bottom of the standings. Buffalo gets first crack. They don't want him. Maybe he gets picked up by the Cowboys, who could use a few laughs these days. Maybe Randy doesn't get picked up at all. That would leave the Patriots, who have the last shot at him in the waiver list, with a decision to make. Can Randy Moss go "home" again? Stay tuned.
