WOONSOCKET — Police are looking for a man believed to have robbed the CVS Pharmacy at 1450 Park Ave. not once but twice at gunpoint.
The suspect's second armed robbery of the business occurred Wednesday night, according to police. The latest incident follows an as yet unsolved armed robbery at the store on June 22. Store personnel working the pharmacy counter on June 22 were also working at the store Wednesday night. They identified the same man in both incidents, according to police. The suspect entered the store and quickly proceeded to the pharmacy area where he showed a black gun to the pharmacists on duty. He then demanded access to the storage area for oxycodone painkiller tablets, police said. An undetermined amount of the pills were taken in the robbery. The suspect immediately fled the store into the back parking lot, police said. He is believed to have gotten into a small brownish-red sedan there, possibly a Dodge Neon, and driven away from the rear lot, police said. The man was described as being white, approximately 6 feet tall with no facial hair, and 20 to 30 years old. He was reported to be wearing a blue zip sweatshirt with a hood, a Patriots baseball cap and blue jeans. The man was also reported to be wearing latex gloves during the incident, police said. An employee of the store recognized the weapon as a Glock handgun. Police were awaiting store surveillance information for further details on the suspect's description. |
