WOONSOCKET — A Woonsocket man is reportedly in stable condition after he was allegedly stabbed by another man Friday morning in an apartment on Burnside Avenue, police said.

Woonsocket police were called to an apartment at 326 Burnside Ave. on Friday around 10:45 a.m. to investigate a report of a stabbing, said Lt. Steve Nowak of the Woonsocket Police Department.
Upon arrival to the second floor, officers met with a 19-year-old male inside an apartment. The male was found to have a minor puncture wound to his back, said police.
The victim was immediately transported by Woonsocket Rescue to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was treated for “non-life threatening injuries,” said Nowak. The victim is reported to be in stable condition, according to police.
The male victim identified his assailant as Tyrone Bell, 20, of 216 Grove St., according to Nowak.
Bell was arrested later that morning at his residence. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon in a dwelling. He was also wanted on a bench warrant at the time of his arrest.
Bell was apparently invited into the Burnside Avenue apartment that morning. An argument occurred later that morning between the parties, according to police.
The suspect’s 20 year old ex-girlfriend, the male victim’s current girlfriend, was also at the Burnside Avenue apartment that morning, according to the lieutenant.
Bell is also being charged for domestic, simple assault, for attempting to choke his ex-girlfriend during the incident, Nowak said.
Police were unable to locate a weapon at the time of Bell’s arrest. “There was no weapon found on him,” Nowak said.
The case is ongoing and under the investigation of the Woonsocket Police Department.
