Town emergency personnel survey the accident scene Friday morning in front of 123 Quaker Highway in North Smithfield. A horse traveling in the trailer at right died after the trailer became unhitched from a Ford pickup truck and crashed into a utility pole at around 9 a.m. Friday. Police declined to identify the driver of the truck or say whether there were any passengers. They did report that no vehicle occupants were injured.  A portion of Quaker Highway was closed Friday morning as National Grid removed the broken utility pole.  Call photo/Sandy McGee
