WOONSOCKET — An undercover investigation by police led to the arrest of eight local residents on various drug and weapon charges this past weekend.

On Friday at approximately 6 a.m., members of the Woonsocket Police Department’s Vice Squad, Special Reaction Team (SRT) and Patrol Division executed search warrants to enter a residence at 122 North Main St.
Police seized the following property as evidence during the search: 16 ounces of marijuana, with a street value of approximately $1,200; and more than an ounce of heroin, which was valued at $3,500.
Also seized as evidence was more than two ounces of cocaine, valued at $2,400; more than $10,000 in cash; a .44 caliber revolver handgun; and a 1999 Toyota Solara.
“This was a great arrest by the officers,” said Captain Michael Lemoine of the Woonsocket Police Department. “This is positive for the city. It removes the dealing of narcotics, as well as another dealer off the street. It makes a safer community.”
