100 mph car chase ends in Lincoln |

CUMBERLAND — Police reported pursuing an “older woman” whose age they did not release, but who appeared to be pushing 100 — on the speedometer.
According to police, an officer began pursuing a small gray Toyota with Massachusetts plates shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday. The driver was described as an “older woman” with dark hair, according to police.
The officer allegedly began following the vehicle after clocking its speed, which police say was about 100 mph. According to police, the driver did not respond to attempts by the officer to stop her. The pursuit reportedly began near Exit 11 on Route 295 South, and continued until the vehicle reached Lincoln, police said.
Police said the chase was called off at this point, but not before the officer took note of the vehicle’s registration. The driver was later contacted, and agreed to come in to police headquarters later this week to resolve the matter, according to police. |
