Dean D.  Abbott

HARRISVILLE- Abbott, Dean D. 86, born September 1, 1921 in Kimball, MN, son of the late Myrtle (Peabody) and John Abbott, and husband of 58 years to Lillian (Watt) Abbott. 
He was a distinguished Naval Aviator and served as a fighter pilot during WW II in the Pacific Theater and was a member of Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica from 1961-1962. After honorably retiring from the U.S. Navy in 1965, he was a RI Probation and Parole Officer from 1967 to 1980.
Since retiring, he and Lillian resided in Vero Beach, FL and Harrisville, RI.
He is survived by his wife Lillian, son John and Barbara Abbott of Chepachet, RI, daughter Leslie (Abbott) and Raymond Eihausen of Herndon, VA, son Dean D. Jr. and Kathy Abbott, of Riverview, FL and daughter Tracey (Abbott) and Michael Stough of Herndon, VA.  He was a much loved grandfather of Jennifer, Leah, Dean, Dan, Ashley, Jessica, Sarah, Meghan, Derrick and Taylor, great-grandfather of John Scott and Alexandra, and many loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Thursday at 10am in BELLOWS - FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL 160 RIVER RD. LINCOLN. Burial with Military Honors will be R.I. Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call WEDNESDAY 5-8pm. For directions and guest book please visit www.bellowsfh.com.
