GLOCESTER — Three people were rescued from Echo Lake Saturday morning after their boat began to spin out of control, police said.

According to Capt. Joseph V. Mattera, during a patrol of the lake on Saturday morning, members of the Glocester Police Department Boat Unit came upon the vessel spinning out of control and found the three adults in the water.
Members of the Burrillville Police Department, along with the Pascoag Fire Department, were summoned to assist with the three victims and the boat. Glocester Patrolmen Jeffrey Jenison and Brian D’Amato were then able to rescue the three adults from the water and bring them to safety while other members of the Glocester Police and Pascoag Fire Department managed to throw several ropes into the propeller of the vessel to slow it down and stop it from spinning out of control.
The operator of the vessel was identified as Albert Addessi, 36, and his two passengers are identified as Jennifer Addessi, 30, and Edward Walsh, 41. According to Addessi’s statement, he and his two passengers were seated in the 2003 20-foot Stingray when he turned the boat and all three were thrown into the water, along with the seat they were on.
No injuries were reported and the vessel did not appear to have any structural damage.
The incident is being investigated by members of the Glocester Police Department and Rhode Island DEM Enforcement Division.
