Woman arrested for biting earlobe off 14-year-old girl |

WOONSOCKET — A 33-year-old city woman was arrested on charges of biting off a 14-year-old girl’s earlobe during a fight Sunday afternoon, police said.
Karen A. Champagne of 107 Rathbun St. was charged with committing an assault resulting in disfigurement or disability. Police found her hiding behind a Dumpster in the parking lot of a nearby health club at 5:57 p.m. Sunday, according to police reports.
About 20 minutes earlier, Champagne allegedly confronted the victim on the street near her apartment when the two began scuffling. At some point, Champagne allegedly bit off the lower part of the girl’s ear.
The girl was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, where a plastic surgeon was on duty. She was scheduled for reconstructive surgery on Monday, police said. |
