City warns of phony fire marshal |

WOONSOCKET — The Woonsocket Fire Department is issuing a warning to all residents to be on the lookout for an individual impersonating a Woonsocket fire marshal.
An individual or individuals are believed to be falsely representing themselves as fire marshals within the city. All residents are advised that the Woonsocket Fire Department will only make a scheduled appointment for an inspection with a building owner. Also, no fees are charged for the installation of smoke detectors. Anyone contacted by an individual portraying himself or herself as a fire marshal are asked to contact the Woonsocket Police Department at (401) 769-1111. Residents are asked to provide a description of the person, as well as the person’s vehicle and license plate number, to assist in the investigation. |
