Tuesday forum anticipates winter heating woes E-mail

BLACKSTONE — The town will host a Blackstone Valley energy forum Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the main meeting room at the Municipal Center, 15 St. Paul St.

Speakers at the forum will discuss expected winter heating challenges in the Valley.
On hand will be state Sen. Richard T. Moore; state Rep. Jennifer M. Callahan; David Harrison, division director for the Energy and Financial Assistance Program; and Claudia Steward, director of charitable programs, Citizens Energy Corp.
Speakers will also include a representative from National Grid, Louise Giguere of Giguere and Marchand Oil Co., Richard Martinelli of Martinelli Oil, Blackstone Police Chief Ross Atstupenas, Blackstone Fire Chief Michael J. Sweeney and Council on Aging Director Karen Albright.
The event will be hosted by John J. Eldridge, a former member of the Board of Selectmen. It will air live on local cable access channel 8. Copies of the program will also be sent to area towns for airing on cable channels in those communities.
The forum is open to the public. Time will be allotted at the end of the forum for questions regarding home heating issues, challenges and possible alternatives to the expected energy dilemma this upcoming winter.
