BURRILLVILLE — Firefighters from the Pascoag, Harrisville, Oakland Mapleville and Wallum Lake Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at 110 Sayles St., Pascoag, early Saturday morning, at around 2:40 a.m.
According to officials, the three-story, multi-family dwelling was occupied by residents when the fire broke out on the second floor. The residents reportedly heard the smoke detectors and made it out of the house safely. Once the Pascoag Tower Ladder 4 vented the roof, heavy thick black smoke came pouring out. This apparently gave crews an opportunity to contain the fire. Firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the fire. The cause is unknown at this time and remains under investigation. |
