SMITHFIELD – Burrillville opened its season on Wednesday with an impressive 2-0 victory over Smithfield.

The Broncos controlled the game while outshooting their opponents, 9-2. Kristina Gingell scored a goal 9:55 into the first half and Jen Kacmarczik added an insurance tally seven minutes later.

Chelsea Berard had an easy afternoon in goal for the Broncos, turning away both shots she encountered on an otherwise pleasant day.
