WOONSOCKET — A third man was arrested Thursday in connection with a double shooting in the city on Sept.1.

Webster D. Winston, 18, of 99 Roberts St., was charged with two counts of conspiracy. The alleged triggerman, Lawrence E. Wright, 21, of Burnside Avenue, and Armand Nelson Dauphinais, 22, of Providence St., are already facing two counts each of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count each of robbery and conspiracy.
Police say Wright is responsible for shooting two men during a confrontation that began outside Quik Mart on Diamond Hill Road. Wright wounded one of the two men, both of whom were armed with baseball bats, outside the convenience store, police said.
Wright and a friend reportedly fled to a car where several other companions were waiting for them after the shooting. The wounded man and his friend, riding in a truck, chased after the vehicle as it raced off toward the Blackstone line, about a quarter mile away. police said.
The chase is said to have ended when the truck rammed the rear end of the car. The wounded man’s friend got out of the truck at that point and approached the vehicle, at which point Wright shot him, too, according to reports.
The two victims, 28 and 33 years old, were admitted to Rhode Island Hospital in serious condition. They have since been released.
