WOONSOCKET — Police arrested three people on drug charges Thursday after they interrupted a man — accompanied by his 9-year-old son — who was in the process of buying marijuana.
The alleged supplier, identified as Charles E. Dasent, 30, of 314 Fourth Ave., was charged with one count each of possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver, conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substances Act and possession of marijuana. Christopher Robertson, 32, of Woonsocket, was charged with possession of marijuana and conspiracy. Police said the parking lot of a convenience store on Manville Road, near Hamlet Avenue, was under surveillance by undercover police at about 9:25 p.m. when they saw a silver Lincoln pull in, with Robertson behind the wheel. He and a small boy got out of the car, used a pay phone and left, at which point police followed them. Robertson drove to Walgreen’s on Clinton Street and parked, when Dasent pulled alongside him and threw something in the window of his car, police said. Dasent had two bags of marijuana in his pockets, and Robertson had one, police said. A passenger in Robertson’s car, identified as John Bryant, 35, of Woonsocket, was also charged with possession of marijuana. |
