WOONSOCKET — Police seized nearly 15 grams of crack cocaine and arrested an alleged drug dealer Wednesday after watching him rendezvous with a suspected supplier in Providence.

Police also confiscated $840 in cash from Johnathin Sifuentes, 24, of 513 Diamond Hill Road. He was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
Police said Sifuentes had been the target of an investigation for about two weeks when they ran into him at a gas station on Park Avenue about 9 p.m. Sifuente’s wife was in the driver’s seat, while Sifuente was pumping gas into the vehicle.
Confidential informants had already purchased cocaine from Sifuente’s first-floor apartment twice since the investigation began and they were in the process of obtaining a warrant to search the residence when they decided to follow the white SUV, police said.
Traveling in unmarked cars, members of the Vice Unit followed the SUV south on Route 146 and onto Route 95 in Providence, where the vehicle exited onto Atwells Avenue. The vehicle continued to nearby Ringgold Street, where it stopped and an unidentified male got into the back seat. The vehicle started up again and drove about 100 feet before it stopped again and the new passenger got out and walked away, police said.
The SUV then doubled back to the highway and began traveling toward the city. Police watched as Sifuentes and his wife stopped at the Burger King in Park Square. Police stopped the vehicle about a quarter mile away, on Park Avenue, after it pulled away from the restaurant, they said.
Detectives said they saw Sifuentes shuffle suspiciously in his seat and shove his hand into his pants as they approached the vehicle, identifying themselves as police. After frisking Sifuentes, police said they found 14.5 grams of crack worth an estimated $600 secreted in his pants. Sifuentes’ wife was released without charges.
