WARWICK – John Vatkevich won two events for Mount St. Charles Academy during its season-opening 64-29 loss to perennial power Bishop Hendricken.
Vatkevich ruled the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard backstroke for Mount, which also prevailed in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Shea boys upended
NORTH PROVIDENCE – Host North Providence edged Shea 46-32 in the season opener for both squads on Monday.
Eddie Murphy won two events for Shea and Brian Machado took an individual race as well.

NORTH PROVIDENCE – Carolina Correa was a double-winner for Shea High on Monday and also anchored a winning relay team for the Raiders, who still came out on the short end of a 50-34 score to North Providence.
