Watson and Wyant are Bellingham's best |

BELLINGHAM — Bellingham High School Principal Edward Fleury recently announced that Brian Watson has been named valedictorian and Spencer Wyant has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2009.
Watson, the son of John and Carmen Watson of 19 Bellwood Circle, ranked first in the senior class. He has maintained a 4.0 grade point average since grade 9. He is an officer and two-year member of the National Honor Society, Bellingham High School chapter. He is a recipient of the University of Rochester Book Award. The Massachusetts Department of Education has recognized Watson's performance on the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System by naming him a “John and Abigail Adams Scholar.” In grade 10, he earned a perfect MCAS math score, according to school officials. Watson has also been named a “National Merit Commended Scholar.” He is a four-year member of the school's newspaper and student council. Watson will attend Amherst College in the fall. Wyant, the son of Pamela and Timothy Wyant of 6 Maddie Way, has been a National Honor Society member since grade 11. He has received a John and Abigail Adams scholarship and was named a “National Merit Commended Scholar.” In addition to his academic honors and accomplishments, Wyant is a four-year member of the spring track team, a three-year member of the cross country team and a member of the student council and the chemistry club. Wyant will attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he will study chemical engineering in the fall. |
