By SANDY McGEE City workers spent more than an hour Wednesday cleaning up debris that flowed down a hill into the Main Street municipal parking lot, directly across from The Call in downtown Woonsocket. The debris, including tree limbs, empty beer cans, a bird cage and other trash, poured down the hill after heavy rains burst from a swimming pool, located up the hill on Ascension Street. The mudslide had occurred once before in 2007, according to city workers. A dump truck, street sweeper, plow truck and many city workers helped with the cleanup. One city employee, dressed in a yellow rain parka, could be heard saying, “What a mess, what a mess.”
