WOONSOCKET – Cercle Laurier will face the Woonsocket Firefighters tonight in Game 3 of their Bernon Little League Major Division playoff series.
The winner of tonight’s contest will face Woonsocket Tax in the championship series.
The Firefighters took Game 1 earlier this week by a 3-1 score as Jonah Houle threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit baseball and also knocked in the go-ahead run in the fourth inning.
Taylor Pawlina got the final two outs to record the save.
Manny Ceballos struck out six batters in a relief effort for the Firefighters.
In Game 2, Cercle Laurier squared the series with a convincing 8-2 victory. Erik Felix tossed a complete-game 4-hitter for the winners, striking out 5 batters and walking just 1.
Jack Winiarski collected 2 hits for the winners. Ceballos chipped in with a double.
Tonight’s game will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Ayotte Field.
