William T. Prior

CUMBERLAND- William T. Prior, 84, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Cecile (Daigneault) Prior. They were happily married for 55 years.
Born in Blackstone, MA, he was the son of the late William and Beatrice (Cassidy) Prior.
Mr. Prior was an army veteran of World War II serving under General Patton in the 3rd Army Division, he was wounded during the war and was a recipient of a Purple Heart. He was a sales representative for Bolton Smart Company and later worked for the US Postal Service, assigned to the Pawtucket office.
He had lived in Cumberland for the last 40 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Wm. Bruce Prior of Cumberland and he also leaves his sister, Rosamond Dupont of Woonsocket. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Charles A. Prior.
The funeral will be held Monday, November 1, 2010 at 8:30am from the O'NEILL Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Monday 8:30am - 9:30am, prior to the Mass. For online condolences,
