WOODSTOCK, NH- Richard L. Cournoyer, 67, of Daniel Webster Highway passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital in Lebanon, NH following a period of declining health.
Born on August 13, 1946 in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of Omer & Germaine (Turcotte) Cournoyer.
Richard grew up in Woonsocket and was a graduate of Woonsocket High School.
He was employed as a binder with Bownes of Boston. It was his love for hiking that brought him to the White Mountains of NH and when he retired, he moved to Woodstock, NH.
He was an avid Nascar Race Fan which led him to open Rte 3 Racing Collectibles in retirement. He enjoyed the company of his friends and family, cook outs and fishing.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Lincoln, NH.
His father Omer pre-deceased him.
He is survived by his loving mother Germaine (Turcotte) Cournoyer of North Woodstock, NH; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Calling hours will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, Dec 6 at Fournier-Hale Funeral Home, 144 Main St, North Woodstock, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Saturday, Dec 7 at St. Joseph Church, Church St, Lincoln, NH.
A Memorial Mass will be held in Woonsocket, RI followed by burial at Precious Blood Cemetery at a later date.
