CUMBERLAND- Gloria L. Canale 88, formerly of Flat St. died Wednesday at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Charland and Harold G. Canale.
Gloria was co-owner, along with her husband Harold, of the former Embassy Restaurant for ten years until 1975.
Gloria is survived by a son Robert Scott Charland of Woonsocket, a daughter Pamela Cabana of Mapleville, stepchildren Susyn Montalvo of Woonsocket, Harold Canale of North Providence and Judy Suranie of Baltimore Maryland, a sister Muriel Gaulin of Virginia, five grandchildren, Michael, Robert and Keith Cabana, Holly Beth and Eric Charland and great-grandchildren, Samantha and Ashton. She was also the sister of the late Raymond Dupre, Georgette Kurzon, Doris Dadario, and Lucille Ravenelle.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph's Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting Hours are Monday 5-7 PM. Please visit
