CUMBERLAND - Carriere, Laurice A. (Koury), 74, of Cumberland, RI passed away December 3, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. She was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late John & Mary (Elias) Koury.
Laurice owned and operated the former Carriere's Furniture Store in North Smithfield for many years. She lived most of her life Woonsocket and previously lived in Uxbridge, MA. She was a volunteer at the Ephata Retreat House.
She is survived by two brothers, Leo Koury of North Smithfield and Charles Koury of Woonsocket, and four sisters, Rose Hawkins of CA, Ramona LeMay and her husband Victor, Jacqueline "Jackie" Koury, and Lorraine "Lori" Grenier and her husband Gerry Laplume, all of Woonsocket. She was also a devoted aunt to her many nieces and nephews, who will miss their loving and generous aunt, including Shari Heredia who was with her when she peacefully passed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10am in St. Theresa's Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone, MA. Burial in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham, MA will be private. The family will be accepting condolences prior to the Mass at 9:30am at the entrance of the church. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are entrusted to the Egidio DiPardo & Sons Funeral Home, 75 Harris Ave., Woonsocket.
