MILLVILLE, MA- Lorraine E. (Charon) Houle, 85, of Millville passed away Wed. Dec. 18, 2013, with her family by her side, in the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence, RI. She was the wife of the late Gaston R. "Gus" Houle who died in 1998.
A longtime resident of Millville, Mrs. Houle had been employed in the cafeteria at the Blackstone-Millville Regional High School for 22 years.
Lorraine was born Oct. 12, 1928 in Attleboro, MA the daughter of the late Harvey and Maria (Lisee) Charon.
She was a former Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, past president of the former Longfellow School PTA in Millville, member of the Blackstone-Millville Food Pantry, and member of the Millville Senior Citizens. She was a member of St. Augustine Church and member of the church's Saint Monica's Guild. She loved embroidery, blueberry picking, fishing, and playing the harmonica.
She was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force.
She is survived by a son, Thomas S. and his wife Susan Houle of Millville; 2 daughters, Donna and her husband Marc Pincince of Millville, and Susan and her husband David Chatfield of Coventry, RI; a brother George Charon of Pawtucket, RI; a sister Doris Ingram of CA; 8 grandchildren including Kevin, Meghan, Acadia, Bethany, Ryan, Casey, Benjamin, and Samuel; 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 5 siblings Helen Musotic, Harriet Birdsong, Claire Eaton, Clarence Charon, and Normand Charon.
Visiting hours will be Friday Dec. 27, 2013 from 3-7 PM in the Buma Funeral Home, 101 N. Main St., Rte. 122, Uxbridge, MA.
Funeral services will be held Saturday Dec. 28, 2013 at 11 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in St. Augustine Church, Lincoln St., Millville, MA.
