BURRILLVILLE- Ruth M. (Rivet) Carter, 83, died Tuesday Dec. 17, 2013 at home, in Harrisville. She was the wife of James M. Carter; they were married for 63 years.
Born in Uxbridge, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Bigelow) Rivet.
Ruth worked for many years for the former Valliere Oil Company of Harrisville. She was a former CCD teacher and a member of the Rosary & Altar Society of St. Joseph's Church, Pascoag. She served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick's Church, Harrisville and was certified with the Diocesan Ministry from the Dioceses of Providence.
Besides her husband James she is survived by two sons, James E. Carter Sr. of Klamath Falls, OR, David J. Carter of North Waterboro, ME, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Charles and Jack Rivet.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday Dec. 27, 2013 at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, Church St. Slatersville. Inurnment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Main St. Pascoag. Arrangements are under the direction of the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave. Pascoag. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her name to; Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
