BLACKSTONE - Constance T. "Connie" (Recore) Rivard, 80, of Blackstone, formerly of Woonsocket and Bellingham, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife for 59 years of Normand A. Rivard. Born in Woonsocket, RI on August 14, 1933 to the late Peter A. and Dorilda (Paul) Recore.
She was the loving mother of Deborah Baro and her husband, Robert of Blackstone, MA, Gisele Golembeski and her husband, Richard of Woonsocket, RI, Russell Rivard and his wife Joanne of Woonsocket, RI, Michael Rivard and his wife Vicky of Kansas City, MO, and Christopher Rivard and Sheila Shepherd of Blackstone, MA. She leaves her cherished grandchildren, Jason Harvey & Melissa Brodeur; Stacey Peckham & Timothy Golembeski; Jennifer Rivard; Matthew, Michael, Jr., Brittany, Ryan, Shawn, Jordan, Jessica, and Jarad Rivard; Jillian & Rebecca Rivard; Justin Baro; and her six great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Raymond Recore of Blackstone, MA, Omer Recore of North Smithfield, RI and the late Joseph Ricard, William and Eugene Recore, Alma Dubois, Regina Lacroix, Alice Dufresne, Rita Degrange and Yvonne Recore.
Connie received her Associates Degree in Nursing from CCRI and was a Registered Nurse at Landmark Medical Center for 20 years until retiring in 1987. Connie and her husband, Normand loved to travel and visited all the 50 states of the United States and all the Canadian Provinces by motor home, and also traveled through Europe and toured China. The highlight of all their travels was the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany. She was a member of the former Royal Travelers. She was a communicant of St. Paul's Church. Devoted to her family, Connie will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, December 28th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Paul's Church, 48 St. Paul Street, Blackstone, MA. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Constance Rivard may be made to: St. Paul's Church, 48 St. Paul Street, Blackstone, MA 01504 would be appreciated.
