CUMBERLAND- Dorothy M. (Vose) Bascombe, 92, of Old West Wrentham Road died Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket.
She was the wife of the late Willard E. Bascombe.
A lifelong resident of Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late Ornando F. and Madeline (Slocum) Vose.
She was employed by Tanury Brothers Jewelry Manufacturers of Lincoln for many years before retiring in 1965.
She was a member of Cumberland Community Methodist Church, Cumberland and a member of Lime Rock Chapter #26, OES, Lincoln. She was a member of over 50 years of the Cumberland Grange P. of H.
She is survived by three daughters, Judith Petrin of Cumberland, Barbara L. Kemp of Prospect Heights, IL and Carol A. Blouin of Williston, VT; three sons, James A. Bascombe, Willard E. Bascombe, Jr. and Bruce E. Bascombe, all of Cumberland; one sister, Lois Angell of Cumberland; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Harold Bascombe and the sister of the late Ruth Roy, Shirley Morris, Eleanor Masse and Marjorie Ashworth.
Her funeral service will be held SATURDAY, JANUARY 4 at 11 A.M. at BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will be in Diamond Hill Cemetery, Cumberland.
