BELLINGHAM- Robert E. Tessier, 73, of Bellingham, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2010 at Landmark Medical Center with family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 26 years of Claudette L. (Lussier) Tessier.
Born in Woonsocket on March 18, 1937, he was the son of the late Eldege and Yvonne (Beausoleil) Tessier.
He was the loving father of Elizabeth Crisp and her husband, Michael, of Baltimore, MD, his cherished grandchildren, Jack Lounsbury and his wife, Cara, Heather Smith and her husband, Brian, and his 5 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Laurent P. Tessier of Woonsocket.
A longtime resident of Bellingham formerly of Woonsocket, he was a truck driver for 20 years at St. Johnsbury Company in Lincoln until retiring in 1994, previously worked for Consolidated Freight, Theroux Brother, and Bileau Milk Transport. As a young man he delivered the Woonsocket Call for many years with his brother. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #251 of Providence. He volunteered for 10 years at Blackstone Valley Elder Services of Bellingham and donated his time at the soup kitchen. Mr. & Mrs. Tessier received the Super Seniors 1996 Bellingham Elder Network Award. He was an avid camper and loved football. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Friday, November 12, at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St., Bellingham. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery.
Visiting hours are on Thursday, November 11, from 5 to 8PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Robert may be sent to the International Shrine of St. Jude, 411 North Rampart St., New Orleans, LA 70112 or Franciscan Mission Associates, 274 West Lincoln Ave., P.O. Box 598, Mount Vernon, NY 10551-0598.
