BURRILLVILLE- Myron Fontes, 87, resident of Pascoag, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Doris A. (Desilets) Fontes, whom he married Jul. 18, 1953.
Born in East Providence, he was the son of the late Marion C. and Rita (Paquette) Fontes.
Myron worked as an Engineer for 24 years before retiring from Amprex of North Smithfield. He attended North Eastern University and URI. He was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran.
Besides his wife Doris, he is survived by one son, Michael Fontes and his wife Deborah of Altamont, NY, four daughters, Marie Bart and her husband Edward of Attleboro, MA, Paula Rita Carbone and her husband Michael of Rocky Mount, NC, Roberta Bart and her husband Russell of Harrisville, Elaina Ann Fontes of Swanton, VT, a brother Richard Fontes of Warwick, two sisters, Marie Mendes of San Diego, CA and Rita Cirella of East Providence, and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph, Manuel, Alfred, Ernest and Raymond Fontes.
His funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at 8:30AM from the Boucher Funeral Home; 272 Sayles Ave. Pascoag, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30AM in St. Joseph's Church, 183 Sayles Ave, Pascoag. Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Cemetery, 301 S. County Trail, Exeter. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 8PM.
