BELLINGHAM- Jean Paul Laferriere, 80, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Ballou Home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 60 years of Lucille H. (Grenier) Laferriere.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on April 24, 1933, he was the son of the late William and Yvonne (Ferron) Laferriere.
He was the loving father of Michael W. Laferriere and his wife, Barbara of Norton, MA, Dennis D. Laferriere of Woonsocket, RI, Linda D. Falardeau and her husband, Dennis of Blackstone, MA, Karen M. Allard and her husband, William of Bellingham, Ann Laferriere of North Carolina, Donna M. LeBlanc and her husband, Jay of Blackstone, MA. He leaves his cherished grandchildren, Aimee Falardeau and Lauren Pariseau, Marc and Michael Allard, Samantha Pine, Norman Laferriere, Danielle Williams, Mallory Burns and Roger Petrin, and his great-grandchildren, Alanah Allard and Avery Williams. He was the brother of Gerald Laferriere of Florida and the late Normand, Bernard "Dizzy" and Rene Laferriere.
A resident of Bellingham for 65 years, he worked for 35 years at Northrop Corporation until retiring in 1996, and previously worked at Whitin Machine and Porter Shoe.
Mr. Laferriere was a United States Air Force Korean War Veteran and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, going out to eat, and was an avid sports fan. Devoted to his family, he will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 15th at 7:30AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM at St. Blaise Church, 1058 So. Main St., Bellingham. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting time from 7:30 to 8:30AM at the funeral home prior to Mass.
