WOONSOCKET- Claire A. (Laffan) Plasse-Lapointe, 87, of 126 St. Hughes St., died January 21, 2014 at home. She was the wife of the late Edward Plasse and the late Arthur Lapointe.
Born in Lincoln, she was the daughter of the late James J. and Yvonne (Dupre) Laffan.
Claire worked for the former Blackstone Valley Psychological Institute, now Plaza Psychiatric, retiring in 2001. She was formerly a communicant of St. Agatha's Church, Woonsocket.
She is survived by four sons, James Plasse of Blackstone, MA, John Plasse of Woonsocket, Edward Plasse of No. Scituate and Thomas Plasse of Worcester, MA, a daughter, Kathryn Plasse of Warwick, a sister, Rita Morin of Manville, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. From her second marriage, she is survived by three step daughters, two step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Gertrude Laffan (Sr. Mary Florella Laffan R.S.M.), Harriet Lamarre and Louise Sylvester.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 27, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Agatha's Church, 34 Joffre Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Calling hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the RI Dept. of Human Services: Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 40 Fountain St., Providence, RI 02903.
