Gast friends plan benefit

January 24, 2014

WOONSOCKET — A benefit has been launched by friends of Stuart Gast Jr., a developmentally disabled man who died unexpectedly after chasing a thief who stole his dog carrier Monday.

Lisa Jean of Blackstone said the proceeds will be used to offset Gast’s funeral expenses, but any surplus will be donated to the Woonsocket Special Olympics Team. Gast had been an enthusiastic participant in Special Olympics for many years.
