Police probe pair of city shootings

WOONSOCKET – A house in the Fairmount section was struck by at least five rounds from a .45-caliber handgun fired from a passing car Sunday night, police said.

Detective Sgt. Matt Ryan said the shots struck the residence of a man who had been involved in a bar fight moments earlier, at around 10 p.m.
“There were two men involved, while several of their friends looked on, about six or seven people in all,” said Detective Sgt. Matt Ryan.
“Punches were thrown. There was a scrum. Then everybody got in their cars and left the area.”
