WOONSOCKET- Doris C. (Cournoyer) McKenna, 80, of Woonsocket, RI. passed away peacefully in her home on January 24, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Born May 19, 1933 in Woonsocket, RI. Daughter of the late Walter and Laura (Theroux) Cournoyer. She was the devoted wife of the late Jeffrey D. McKenna with whom she shared 60 wonderful years.
Doris worked in the fabric industry for many years. She was loved by everyone, and was the glue that held her family together.
She is survived by her loving children, Kenneth McKenna and his wife Ida of Providence, Wayne McKenna and his wife Carol of N. Kingstown, Joanne Keovongsavang and her partner Fred Alpaugh of Woonsocket and the late Gail McKenna. She will be greatly missed by her 8 grand children and 13 great grand children. Doris was predeceased by her brothers Walter Cournoyer and Roland Cournoyer both of Woonsocket and her sister Muriel (Cournoyer) Lamoureux of Columbia TN. She was the beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews which includes her 5 God children.
There will be a celebration of her life on Feb 8, at 1pm at the Lower Level in N. Smithfield.
