Davies girls hang tough in loss to Central

LINCOLN — Davies took a ton of shots – 93 of them – on Tuesday night in its Division III crossover encounter against Central at the Patriots’ Alumni Hall.

Unfortunately for the Patriots, they struggled to find their shot from start to finish and hit just 12 of their attempts. But despite shooting a shade under 13 percent, as well as having a high number of turnovers and some struggles from the free-throw line, the Patriots still found themselves in a battle with the Knights.

It wasn’t until the Knights rolled off eight straight points in the contest’s final 3:53 before they could breathe easily and come away with a 47-34 triumph that kept them in the race for the Division III-South title.
